This newsletter encompasses both May and June. A happy belated Mother’s Day to all the Mothers!!
Regretfully, you did not get a May newsletter. May was such a busy month for me, which included traveling to Los Angeles to attend the BEA (Books Expo America); traveling to D.C. to attend my youngest son’s graduation when he received his Masters Degree from Georgetown University; as well as me taking part in my retirement festivities.
Yes, after 36 years I officially retired from working in management for State Farm Insurance Company on June 1. There was a lot to do to get ready for that last day. Already I miss everyone but look forward to moving into a new and exciting chapter of my life. Gerald retired in October so now we are enjoying not having to wake up to an alarm clock and doing all the things we’ve looked forward to doing.
I also want to share some good news with all of you. Thanks to you, I made history when my book, Irresistible Forces, made the New York Times Bestseller List. I am the first African American novelist to achieve such a milestone with a genre romance novel. Thanks to all of you who purchased Irresistible Forces.
