Climbing to Success - What 5 Things could really make a difference?
By: Khadijah Chapman
The only way to have success is to learn how to create it for yourself. Personal Development is crucial to success, without it success will escape you.
Following are a few of the objectives needed to succeed:
1. The almighty belief system.
In order to have, first you have to give, then you MUST believe NO if's and buts about it! Many will fail due to their own belief system. The internal
clock that drives them is crucial. If you don't get rid of the negative talk, more than not, you will not achieve your goals, no matter what you say out
loud. Your subconscious rules your life, and your conscious mind and your subconscious mind can never disagree, so if you program yourself to win, you will
win, if you don't the negative talk that you don't even realize you have, will win.
2. Having an Effective Strategy.
If your strategy is not an effective one, it will be more like running in place. Don't chase the cheese, make the cheese, be the creator of the cheese, then
distribute the cheese. If you are not sure what I mean, be sure to read, "Who Moved My Cheese" by Spencer Johnson. It is an excellent read.
3. Create a Supportive Environment.
Statistics show that 92-97% of the people around you will not be very supportive of you attempting to achieve great success and have great wealth. Most
people fear the unknown and misery loves company, and [when] you present the 'threat' of becoming all that you desire, then you highlight what they are
'not' doing; and no one wants to be less than. It's almost human nature to be envious of what you won't have; so you have to surround yourself with people
who are exactly where you strive to go or willing to actually do what it will take to get there, and use them as your support system. This factor is non
negotiable.
4. Having good direction and or coaching.
This is crucial to the development of leaders and anyone on their journey to success. Having a mentor who is exactly where you desire to go. That, is an
element or a weapon that you need in your arsenal. As we all know, even the best athletes, Tiger Woods, Kobe Byrant, Lebron James, and the great Michael
Jordan, all have coaches.
5. Failure to Accept Personal Responsibility.
This factor is huge because, to many people blame everything and everyone else for their failures. It is really hard to understand and accept that every
single thing that you have ever excelled in or failed at is entirely your fault. We have free will and the power of choice and every single choice down to
the clothes we wear, the people we associate with, the thoughts we have, the tv programs we watch, even where we choose to work is a direct reflection on who
we are and everything that we will be. And when things in our life are not of our liking, then we must realize that if we want anything about our life to
change, we must become the change that we seek.
